We use English Springer Spaniels in a passive search role, as they are highly suited to this. Our dogs are trained to ACPO Police Dogs Manual of Guidance 2011, which all Police and Customs Agencies Use as a benchmark.

Our dogs are not cross trained unlike some other companies which makes them perfect for the job.

The dogs have been fully socialized from an early age and allowed contact with all age ranges so their use in any work environment or school can be carried out safely.

The dogs are fully insured up to £10 million pounds of public liability and have a vet check every 3 months. They have all had their yearly injections, a copy of the individual dog’s vet record book is always available for a client to see at any time. We also make available the monthly training records of each dog used.

Types of Search

Passive Search:

The dog will be operated on the leash and under the full control of its handler at all times. Individuals entering the buildings will simply have to walk past the Drug Detection dog on their way into the establishment. The dogs are trained to have minimal contact with the persons as they screen them. This screening will compliment any door searching or other security routine you have in place and may save the need for any overly intrusive body searches. The dog team may also be utilised to search members of staff if required. This type of search is ideal for screening people for any illegal drugs that they may have concealed about their person or are carrying in bags etc. The objective of this type of search is to prevent any drugs from being carried on to the premises when it is open and to deter individuals from attempting to bring drugs in to the premises.

Proactive Search:

The team will operate mainly with the dog off leash (where safety permits) again under the full control of its handler. The search team will be able to cover large areas in a relatively short time. The team can search classrooms, cloakrooms, washrooms, toilets, storage and staff areas, offices, delivery points, dance floors, seating areas, bars, vehicles and certain outside areas if deemed appropriate. These searching techniques are tried and tested for the purpose of identifying areas where drugs have been concealed or have been used. When carried out as a high profile exercise this type of search is an excellent deterrent.
